Nearly a year has passed and Bosch, still grinding on the Daisy Clayton murder case, gets called to the Lake Hollywood Overlook to investigate the murder of medical physicist Stanley Kent. Edgar runs a sting on his dirty cops, Maddie starts a new internship, and Chief Irvin Irving jump starts his mayoral campaign.

Bosch closes in on a suspect in the Daisy Clayton murder as Elizabeth begins to unravel. Edgar discovers Avril is as cunning as ever, and worries he'll slip away. The car czar makes a hard play to force Irving out of the mayoral race.

Bosch and Edgar follow a lead in the arson fire case to the famed Magic Castle. Lt. Billets ruffles feathers in the ranks. After Chandler's client, Vincent Franzen, spends a night in jail, he offers up a "big fish" as his get-out-of-jail-free card.

Irving and Maddie make big decisions about their futures. Bosch and Edgar, having weathered unexpected tragedies, share bitter frustration with a system that has seemingly failed them.

Bosch and Edgar track down La Mayorista, but Bosch asks Vega to assist after Edgar makes a costly error. Chandler and Maddie record Franzen's statement for the SEC before Chandler stashes him away in a safe house.
