Great British Car Journeys

Christopher and Peter travel from Inverness to The Isle of Skye, following single track `military' roads from one side of the stunning Scottish Highlands to the other, with some of the UK's most extreme driving country. Along the way, they fire up a 1903 Dog Cart, take a spin in a vintage three-wheel rally car up the notorious Inverfarigaig Corkscrew, and cross over to Skye on the oldest car ferry of its kind in the world.

Christopher and Peter relive the golden age of motoring, travelling the A30 from London, through ever-changing English countryside, to Cornwall and Land's End. On the way, they recreate Britain's first recorded car journey in a 1900 Georges Richard.

Peter and Chris travel through dream driving country into the Rhondda Valley, across the Brecon Beacons into breath-taking Snowdonia. Along the way they investigate the subversive origins of the AA, recreate a vintage speed trap, hitch a lift to the top of the world's biggest slate mine and meet up with one of Chris' oldest friends.

Travelling their own Herriot trail from Scarborough to the Yorkshire Dales, they uncover the county's rich and often surprising motoring history, catch up with an old friend or two, and take a very special and nostalgic drive along the roads where their friendship began over 40 years ago.
