Kent: The Garden of England

Bill Nighy celebrates the beauty of the county known as the Garden of England - from the White Cliffs of Dover to the marshlands of the Thames Estuary.

Joining harvests for hops and oysters, travelling down the beautiful River Stour, watching the annual Weald of Kent ploughing match, and exploring the Samphire Hoe nature reserve.

We meet a man who swam the Channel 34 times, have a close encounter with the world's most venomous plant, race Dragons on the River Medway, and visit Chatham dockyards and the Isle of Sheppey.

Featuring a visit to Hever Castle, once home to Anne Boleyn, with its incredible gardens, a climb to Kent's highest village, Ide Hill, and a visit to the oldest modern vineyard of Kent near Biddenden.

Visiting the kitchens of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, travelling by paddle steamer Waverley along the Kent coast to London's Tower Pier and going to the Lost Village of Dode.
