Eight former contestants are back to take on eight keen rookies. First up is the signature dish challenge, with the veterans trying to create the rookies' meals and trying to impress Gordon early on.

Having lost the most recent dinner service, there is growing tension within the Blue team as the bond continues to grow among the remaining members of the Red Team. For the chefs' next challenge, Chef Ramsay pits the teams against one another, preparing authentic Chinese dishes as prominent Chinese Chef Shirley Chung is brought in to judge their finished dishes.

World-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay puts 18 aspiring chefs through a series of rigorous and devastating challenges. The 13th series kicks off as the hopefuls cook up their signature dishes for Gordon. One contestant's overly speedy delivery arouses Gordon's suspicions. Will they be able to win back his respect during the first dinner service of the series?

The seven remaining chefs are called down to the dining room to discover two ice dancers performing a routine. Chef Ramsay explains ice dancing can be romantic, just as dessert can be. For their challenge they will cook an extraordinary dessert that will be judged by world-renowned chocolatier Valerie Gordon. The winner will spend their day on a luxurious shopping spree, compliments of Chef Ramsay.

With the Hell's Kitchen dining room transformed into an Italian bistro, all eight chefs learn that they will participate in the beloved blind taste test challenge - gelato edition. Going into dinner service, the chefs are more motivated to execute than ever as it's charity night in Hell's Kitchen. With two tables of 12 patrons each, the chefs rush to see who will finish first.
