EPISODE 1

Nightfighters, 1939-1941

At the beginning of the war, both sides were not prepared for any night time fighting. It was the overwhelming losses incurred in the defeat in France, and the Battle of Britain that forced both sides to bomb at night.
EPISODE 2

Millennium to Gomorrah, 1942-1943

Bomber Command's losses were so great that new offensive techniques were required.The RAF developed the "bomber stream" and used technology to combat the German nightfighters, which are shown in a recreated interception of a Lancaster bomber.

The Big City, 1944-1945

One raid on Berlin on January 28/29, 1944 is shown in detail, with all the planning, and electronic measure and counter-measures used by both sides against each other.

Preserving the Memory

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton has one of the largest collections of restored and flying WW 2 aircraft, including North America's only Lancaster. They are a memorial to the men who flew them. Their preservation and restoration is an art as well as a science.
