To the Wonder

After a mishap at her restaurant job, 19-year-old aspiring writer Li Wen Xiu (Zhou Yi Ran) returns to her hometown of Altay thousands of miles away. In order to pursue her dreams, she takes on a new job collecting debts for her mom's store. Tracking down the store’s debtors is difficult, especially when mischievous Ba Tai (Yu Shi), a Kazakh boy, scares Wen Xiu into tripping into a river. However, as she spends more time in Altay and gets to know Ba Tai, Wen Xiu finds that there's more to him than she initially thought, especially when she learns that Ba Tai dreams of a different life than his family's nomadic traditions. Will Wen Xiu's life in the countryside inspire her writing and lead her to love? This drama was adapted from the essay collection "My Altay" by Li Juan.
