There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless...

Upon graduating from middle school, shy, anxious Renako Amaori is determined to reinvent herself. She changes her appearance and practices her conversation skills in preparation for high school, where she hopes to build the friendships she's always dreamed of. Renako seems to get her wish when she manages to befriend classmate Mai Ouzuka, a wealthy and outgoing fashion model, but she soon realizes that she can't pretend to be someone else forever. During a deep conversation with Mai, she confesses the truth. The very next day, however, Mai returns with a confession of her own – she has feelings for Renako. Mai and Renako must now try to convince each other that what they want is best, spending time together both as friends and as a potential couple in the hopes of getting what they want. Who will eventually emerge victorious in this battle of the hearts?
