The Hunt for Raoul Moat

In the northeast of England, Samantha Stobbart, who lives with her family, meets Chris Brown, a new neighbor, and falls in love with him at first sight. However, Raoul Moat, who had been serving a sentence for assaulting his daughter, is set to be released from Durham Prison on July 1. Samantha was trying to keep her new relationship a secret, but on July 3, the worst possible tragedy strikes.

Upon his release from prison, Moat shot Samantha and Chris, and his resentment toward the police grew when he learned that her new boyfriend was a police officer. As criticism of the initial police response mounted, he shot PC David while on the run. When his monologue was published in the newspaper, some supporters even began to view Moat as a hero—a man who had been stripped of everything by the police.

[Season Finale]Just as the week since his escape was drawing to a close, Moat was finally discovered in Rossbury, in the same northeastern region where a lockdown had been imposed. While the newspapers tried to persuade him by bringing in his brother, the police mobilized special forces, deployed armored vehicles, and even sent in negotiators, but the standoff between the fugitive and the police lasted six hours. Then, on July 10, the incident came to a tragic end.
