The Dana Carvey Show

Host and creator Dana Carvey begins this first show with his portrayal of President Bill Clinton giving his assessment of challengers vying for the 1996 Republican Party nomination for president. After declaring the Republican primaries a "freak show," the US President then goes on to reveal just how he will nurture the country during his next term...with his new breasts! Following a commercial for the new Drow-Z-Boy easy chair, the show features Germans Who Say Nice Things. Finally, THE DANA CARVEY SHOW concludes with an important announcement about the use of a major network's intellectual property before featuring the Church Lady's list of the top ten new titles for England's Princess Diana.

In a segment of the celebrity news program Entertainment Headlines, the cast of THE DANA CARVEY SHOW looks in on the romantic relationship between prosecutors Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden before examining the effects that O.J. Simpson defense attorney Johnnie Cochran's courtroom style has had on the legal profession. Following an explicit sponsor and Dana taking audience questions, the work of some very young up-and-coming comics is seen on Comedy Central's Under Five. After a portrayal of talk show host Charles Grodin, Dana and company show a lone hockey player striving for perfection and EH's look at filmmaker Oliver Stone. The show then turns to Academy Award presenters Susan Sarandon and Gregory Peck as they struggle to make themselves understood to the quartet of foreign nominees. Finally, Grandma the Clown shows an aging clown's struggle to keep her young audience entertained.

After a censored musical introduction by the Diet Mug Root Beer Singers, Dana fields audience questions about how to get a start in show business. Next, Dana and guest star Jan Hooks appear in Regis and Kathie Lee, exposing the tempestuous relationship between talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford. In a look at Geraldo, Dana is celebrity witness Kato Kaelin being grilled by Geraldo Rivera as O.J. Simpson arrives to give his version of events. Following Germans Who Say Nice Things, Dana portrays President Bill Clinton as he and his wife Hillary are roasted by radio personality Howard Stern. Though Hillary isn't at all amused, Clinton takes the opportunity to defend his record by admitting that he is a President who truly likes sex.

After Dana provides his impression of Jay Leno interviewing director/actor/producer Quentin Tarantino, the Pepsi singers extol the many health benefits of their soft drink. Following some audience questions about Dana's experience with stalkers and actor Nicholas Cage, and a commercial touting a companion-finding service for the insane, the Stupid Pranksters try out their joke at a movie theater box office. Then, Dana presents a promo for Rich Little's All Rich Little One Man Easter, in which he portrays a host of biblical characters. Following Waiters Who Are Nauseated By Food, Dana stars in Nixons, director Oliver Stone's latest film examining the five personalities of the late president. Finally, after the Stupid Pranksters call on a prostitute, Dana presents a BBC report announcing the separation of England's Royal Couple and Prince Charles' appeal for the right to behead his wife.

World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings takes a look at how Bob Dole and Bill Clinton prepare physically for their presidential race. Following an introduction by the Szechwan Dynasty Singers and a demonstration of Dana's guitar-playing talents, Technofuture looks at some new inventions, including a metered shirt, air-breathing pet fish and an ethnic alarm clock. Then, Entertainment Headlines looks at how an appearance on MTV led the FBI to the Unabomber. Following a quick look at the erotic Discovery Channel After Dark and a pair of folksy skinheads from Maine, Dana is Madonny, a Chinese food deliveryman whose persona was stolen by the pop star Madonna. Grandma the Clown entertains her young audience with a very slow pie to the face as the Food Network After Dark serves up some very erotic eats. Then, Peter Jennings looks in on the FBI's use of the Pied Piper to induce the Freeman to give up their siege at a Montana ranch. Finally, along with C-Span After Dark, the show concludes with a very flattering promo for Jenny.
