As young boys, Makoto (Masaki Okada) and Minoru (Shota Sometani) Tagusari's parents were murdered. In a tragic coincidence, the statute of limitations expired on their parents' case just two days before Japan abolished the statute of limitations for murder cases. With no way to avenge their parents through the legal process, the brothers decide to take matters into their own hands, resulting in Makoto becoming a detective and Minoru becoming a medical examiner. Now, having inside access to police information, the brothers perform their day jobs while investigating on their own, hoping that they can find out the truth behind their parents' deaths no matter how much time passes. But will they manage to find the answers they seek, or is this one mystery they won't be able to solve?
