Killer by the Lake

Lise Stocker, head of the Paris Crime Bureau, returns to her hometown to care for her sick mother. Upon her return, she hears that local teenager, Chloe, has vanished during a local celebration. The mystery disappearance ignites old memories for Lise - fifteen years ago her two best friends, Ana and Marion, disappeared during the very same event. Is there a connection between the two incidents?

A little-known strain of the Ebola virus is spreading through Annecy. A race against time begins to find patient zero and stop the outbreak. Commander Wagner, a military doctor, is secretly dispatched to the town. Is this a criminal act? A terrorist attack? Could the virus be connected to the mysterious disappearance of a young girl and her father? Every minute counts.

Remi Bouchard is arrested over Chloe’s disappearance, just like he was fifteen years ago. The killer takes two new victims: Monica, a young woman, and Yacine, a fellow officer and friend of Clovis. For Lise, it's high time Clovis explained himself. Who is this woman Mathilde, who claims she lives with Clovis and is the mother of his child? Incapable of responding, Clovis leaves home and takes up temporary residence at police quarters.

The danger grows even closer when Tom, burning with fever, is rushed to the hospital. Will the vaccine be ready in time to save the team? Lise begins to unravel, fearing she's been infected too. The people behind the chaos have been identified - but stopping them is another battle entirely. With the epidemic pushing the population to the brink, the region teeters on the edge of chaos.
