Gunman in Joseon
In 1876, amidst the third year of Emperor Gojong’s reign, tension continues to rise between political factions that disagree with the emperor’s desire to open Korea’s formerly-closed borders. Increased foreign influence has introduced western-made guns into Korea, which had previously relied on swords for combat – and Park Yoon Kang (Lee Joon Gi), the son of a great swordsman, uses this to his advantage. After his father’s murder and his sister’s enslavement, Yoon Kang decides to arm himself with a rifle to enact his revenge upon the ruling class. But along the way, Yoon Kang finds that he has a surprising amount of support from the common people who want to see the aristocracy taken down, turning him into an unexpected hero.
