A university professor is mysteriously thrown from a New York City subway platform straight into an oncoming subway and Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Curtis (Benjamin Bratt) suspect murder. While the detectives search for clues to determine the motive, they unravel a family's hidden past and domineering father. Assistant District Attorneys McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Carmichael (Angie Harmon) are determined to prosecute the murderer while working around an expired statute. S. Epatha Merkerson and Steven Hill also star.
