Today Is the Last Day of the Rest of My Life
New attending physician, Kate Delibe, is causing a stir at Community General with her unorthodox methods of care. Delibe assists in terminally ill patient George Dugan's suicide against Dr. Sloan's wishes. Frustrated, Dr. Sloan can not convict her since Amanda ruled Dugan's death legally a suicide. Hospital director Harold Lomax is aware of her questionable history from past hospitals, but his hands are tied too since there is not enough evidence to bring charges against Delibe. Alerting his staff to keep an eye on her conduct, Dr. Sloan resolves to end her role as Dr. Death. Finally Dr. Sloan catches Delibe in the act when he discovers that patient David Goodman checked out of Community General under her care. Rushing to Goodman's home, Dr. Sloan and Steve arrest Delibe with the fatal medications in hand. Delibe's arrest causes protests outside Community General between "Right To Life" and "Patient's Rights" groups while the case goes to the Grand Jury for murder one.
