An eccentric uncle of Mitch's dies under mysterious circumstances and when Mitch, along with a few other Baywatch lifeguards, journey to his mountainous home for the funeral, they learn of a treasure the man may have found.

Matt and his friends face extreme danger at the hands of two thugs determined to get their hands on the legendary treasure. Back at Baywatch, rookie trials are held for prospective lifeguards with new and old faces taking part.

It is rookie school time at the Baywatch beach and there is fierce competition between the lifeguards to win. Meanwhile, Stephanie and C.J. move into new apartments but things quickly become complicated for both.

The love triangle of Courtney, Slade and Summer intensifies even as Slade's father pays him a visit. C. J. takes a job at a local high school and Garners grows frustrated with his job.
