Mannix's former girlfriend sees a man she met on vacation but he flees, so she asks Mannix to track him down. However, things take a turn when it turns out the man is an assassin.

A young woman hires Intertect to do a background check on her boyfriend. Mannix believes she is surrounded by shady characters who seek to drive her back into a mental hospital.

A burglar steals notebooks from a psychiatrist, then double crosses his accomplice and takes the notebooks for himself. One of the patients hire Intertect after being blackmailed.

Mannix is hired by a secretive multi-millionaire to find his ex-wife. At least that's what he has been told when he takes the job. The ex-wife, a prominent singer, supposedly committed suicide but has been seen since her supposed death. As Mannix pursues the trail, it becomes clear he hasn't been given the entire story.

An art collector sees a woman modelling for a sculptor who looks exactly like the subject of his Renoir painting but she flees so he hires Intertect and Mannix to find her.

When Mannix tries to find out what a disturbed little girl knows about her murdered doctor and $150,000 in stolen bonds, they both become marked for assassination.
