Jesse witnesses a car accident and rushes to help the beautiful victim, Chloe Marsden, who has stopped breathing. After a quick application of CPR Chloe is revived and finds Jesse accompanying her to the hospital. Jesse informs his patient that she can check out of the hospital the next day, but senses her anxiety about leaving. Against Dr. Sloan's judgment, Jesse personally escorts Chloe home and discovers that her married ex-boyfriend, Richard Locke, ran her off the road. Gallantly, Jesse assures Chloe that she can contact him anytime she needs help but is surprised when Chloe pages him with a desperate plea. Arriving at her home, Jesse encounters Locke in the midst of strangling Chloe. Immediately Jesse comes to the rescue fending off Locke's blows. Unfortunately, their altercation proves fatal when a blow to the back of the head from Chloe finds Locke falling forward and impaling himself on the knife that Jesse is holding! Amiving
