It's Thorne and Caroline's wedding day, and almost everyone is busy preparing for it. Mark is disappointed that he did not know about the wedding and his relationship with Donna begins to turn sour. Brooke is beside herself wondering if Caroline has read the letter or not. Beth is reluctant about wearing the dress Eric made for her., but decides to do so anyway. Caroline finally reads the letter.

Beth urges Brooke to make a decision so that she won't keep Dave hanging on any longer and warns her that Ridge will eventually find out about the letter. Stephanie suspects foul play by Brooke and Margo is stunned by the news of Caroline's engagement. Ridge toasts his brother and Caroline and then gives Caroline a passionate kiss.

Beth suspects that Brooke deliberately kept Ridge's letter from Caroline. Storm advises Dave to be patient with Brooke and her infatuation with Ridge. Caroline decides to accept Thorne's proposal. Ridge plans a romantic evening with Caroline.

Brooke warns Katie not to mention the letter. Stephanie leaves for her mysterious appointment as Kristen tells her parents about her date with Clarke. Ridge is confident that he and Caroline will be reunited. Brooke convinces Caroline that Thorne is the man for her. Thorne tells Ridge that Caroline no longer cares for him and that he has proposed to her.

Caroline and Thorne arrive at Bill Spencer's to tell him the news of their engagement as Ridge waits for Caroline in the Private Dining Room. Bill is overjoyed at the news and the couple decides to tell Thorne's parents. Eric advises Stephanie that they should stay clear from their children's romantic entanglements. Storm reminds Brooke about Dave and cautions her to be realistic about Ridge. Stephanie breaks the news of the engagement to Ridge who is devastated.

Stephanie confides her suspicions about Brooke and the letter to Ridge who has no plans to attend the wedding. She has a confrontation with Brooke who pleads innocence in the affair. Caroline asks Brooke to locate Ridge so that they might discuss the letter. Stephanie and Margo discuss Margo's relationship with Bill Spencer.
