To Barcelona, Forever
Five months after the Saint Jordi Festival, Nico takes Erica on a romantic date and proposes, surprising her with a ring and Anna, who was able to come back to Barcelona amid her work on her own growing travel food blog, to celebrate the pair. Anna takes the chance, being back in Spain, to visit a special shop that sells some of the best saffron in the world for only one week out of the year. There, she meets Javier (Pedro Fontaine), the man who supplies the saffron yet keeps his family’s village and saffron-harvesting process a close-knit secret. As Anna heads back out on the road, her car breaks down, and while searching for help, she stumbles upon Javier, realizing she unknowingly found his family’s secret village. Before he can sneak her back out, the family finds Anna, mistaking her for his new fiancée. Family tradition states that Javier must be married by the next saffron harvest, or else the farm can no longer be passed down to the next generation. Anna and Javier decide to go along with the misunderstanding until after the harvest, where Anna will be allowed to write a piece on the mysterious farm, skyrocketing her blog. As the harvest approaches, their love grows, and with the help of Erica and Nico, who both find their way to Anna, they are able to shed expectations and be honest with Javier’s family. Anna and Javier end up leaving the farm to travel the world documenting food together.
