The Black Case
THE BLACK CASE is a psychological drama about the lasting effects of traumatic events that occur during one night in a Canadian residential school infirmary. In 1930, Elizabeth and her infant cousin are taken from their family and forced into quarantine due to a tuberculosis scare. Here, they are submitted to agonizing visits from the resident nurse and a visiting physician. Although somber in form and content, THE BLACK CASE is ultimately about young Elizabeth’s spirit, strength and will to survive.
