Summer in Closed Eyes

Nhat Ha (Phuong Anh Dao) travels from Da Lat to Hokkaido seeking her missing father (Cong Ninh), who mysteriously stopped sending photographs years ago. Despite speaking no Japanese, she meets Akira (Takafumi Akutsu), a fellow analog photography enthusiast. Though they cannot communicate through language, an unconventional friendship develops between them, hinting at potential romance. As Nhat Ha continues her search for her father, cultural and linguistic barriers challenge her journey, while her connection with Akira grows deeper. Their shared passion for photography becomes a bridge connecting their worlds, offering hope in her quest to uncover her father's whereabouts. This is a 2018 Vietnamese movie directed by Cao Thuy Nhi.
