Morning Show Mysteries: Murder Ever After

The popular morning show where Billie Blessings works as a co-host gets shaken up by the arrival of Carlos Montego, a rakish reporter with a reputation for breaking rules and hearts. Later that day, in the childhood home of one of her oldest friends, Billie discovers bones in the basement. The new lead of homicide, Detective Price begins the investigation. Carlos thinks Billie’s friend has something to do with the murder, and Billie fights to prove him wrong before he breaks the story on live television. The closer she gets to the truth, the closer she gets to Carlos as well. Most people, including Detective Price, believe the bones belong to her friend’s stepmother, who disappeared ten years ago. But Billie finds the missing woman living in Canada. The woman identifies the bones as her former lover, a man she had planned to run away with, and who embezzled half a million dollars before he was killed. Now there are lots of suspects: the woman who stayed hidden, and silent, for ten years; the dead man’s ex-wife, a powerful businesswoman now running for mayor; the local developer who built an empire after the murder; the campaign manager who finally turned his life around. And, most chillingly, Billie’s old friend, who may have helped her father cover up a crime. Everyone, including Billie’s friend, is keeping secrets. Can Billie put the puzzle together before Carlos and Detective Price implicate her friend in a murder?
