Hard Boiled Mahoney

In the Bowery, young Slip Mahoney (Leo Gorcey) goes to the detective agency where he was employed for one week to collect his pay, only to discover his ex-boss is on vacation. When Selena Webster (Betty Compson) offers to hire Slip to find her missing sister, Eleanor Williams (Teala Loring), Slip accepts and hastily forms his own detective agency. But Slip's first interview, with a contact of Eleanor's, goes awry when the man is found murdered and Eleanor turns up insisting she has no sister.
