How do you celebrate the life of a madcap Chinese matriarch? With a customary multi-day funeral grudgingly pulled together by four surly siblings in this comedy-drama. The Xiao children assemble in Seattle to morn their deceased mom, a spitfire hellion they quietly called 'The Dragon Lady.' But with a traditional Asian funeral spreading over seven days, the berating of their mother’s memory may lead to profound appreciation for her during their bereavement.
