Later that year, Big Pun became a Grammy nominated artist for his chart topping single - "Still Not a Player." His accomplishments opened doors for many up-and-coming Latino artists in Hip Hop. His talent and passions unanimously made him one of the greatest lyricists in the history of Hip Hop. On February 7, 2000, Christopher Rios passed away when he suffered a heart attack, after a long struggle with his weight. Thousands of mourning fans gathered at his wake in the Bronx, New York, to pay tribute to their idol and a resounding legacy, which lives today in the hearts of his fans and fellow artists.
