August at Akiko's

Armed with just his suitcase and a sax, musician Alex Zhang Hungtai (Dirty Beaches) returns home to Hawaii after nearly a decade. Hungtai, playing a fictional version of himself, takes refuge in a Buddhist B&B with a woman named Akiko (Akiko Matsuda, playing herself). As the two grow familiar with one another, they embark on a journey of musical discovery.
