Ace of Aces

Rex Thorne enters the military as a conscientious objector, refusing to take up arms against another human being. But war changes him into a lethal killing machine, the United States' best pilot--an Ace of Aces. World War I. Sculptor Rex Thorne (Richard Dix) loves his art and his fiancée, Nancy Adams (Elizabeth Allen). Nancy enlists when the United States enters the war and goes to Europe as a nurse, spurning Rex as a coward because he refuses to fight. But when Rex is sent to the front and wounded, he undergoes a change of heart. Joining the Air Force, he quickly notches an ever-growing number of kills. Now, as Rex risks his life daily, Nancy becomes disgusted with the carnage and begs Rex to stop flying.
