A Fairy Tale 2

Qin Yang Ming (Peng Yu Si), leader of a mortal kingdom, faces imminent destruction from evil deities and monsters threatening to break through from the spiritual world. Unbeknownst to him, he will be reborn 800 years later as Ning Cai Chen, a timid scholar who initially resists but later falls in love with Nie Xiao Qian (Nan Sheng), a female spirit. Driven by love, Nie Xiao Qian travels back in time to help Qin Yang Ming, hoping to protect him from the impending doom. As she encounters the past version of her true love, she wonders if he will recognize her and if they can together defeat the forces of evil threatening their realm. Based on a short story from the 17th-century Chinese compilation "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" by Pu Song Ling, "A Fairy Tale 2" is a 2021 Chinese movie directed by Cong Wang.
