Lt. Casey (Jesse Spencer) returns to work at Firehouse 51 after nearly being killed in a building collapse and Shay (Lauren German) meets Allison Rafferty (guest star Christine Evangelista), her new partner, who is friendly to everyone except her. Dawson (Monica Raymund) begins her rigorous training at the Chicago Fire Academy, while Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) prepares for his stint as instructor. Meanwhile, Clarke (guest star Jeff Hephner) stubbornly does not speak with the police about the murder in which he is the prime suspect and the future of Molly’s looks bleaker than ever.

The shooting of a child in their neighborhood forces Cruz and his brother to think about the gang; Isabella gets Mills to dress up for a gala; Casey feels sad he will be seeing Dawson less; Shay gets in deeper with Devon.

The firehouse crew goes to the scene of a railroad accident; Boden must make a big decision about his future; Severide learns more about the woman he saw with his father; Shay and Dawson continue to butt heads.

With the help of Flex and Danny the Street, the Doom Patrol enter the White Space to rescue the Chief from Mr. Nobody. But Nobody offers them a deal that's hard to resist.
