Headless Hero

Diao, an orphaned young man skilled in boxing, travels to the Southern village following his father's dying wish. He competes in and wins a buffalo race and a boxing match against Mad and Sompong to raise money to help his friend. In addition, Tubtim, the village beauty, also has feelings for him, which makes him heavily resented. Later, Diao tries to stop Suea Men from secretly cutting off a Buddha statue's head, but he is ambushed and beheaded on the spot by Ai Mad and Sompong. Amidst a rainstorm, a lightning strike fuses the Buddha's head with his body. Ai Diao is resurrected as a "Headless Ghost" to take revenge on the religious defilers and his killers, restoring peace to the village before his body vanishes with the morning sunlight.
