New Model Army: Live SO36

Raw, unfiltered, and full of energy, Live SO36 captures punk rock at its best. The film can be seen as an indirect sequel to their 2023 live program Sinfonia. When the idea arose to hold a New Model Army concert with a full orchestra at Berlin’s Tempodrom, the band had a thought: If they were going to do something so extravagant, they should also dare to do the exact opposite on the same weekend. So, for the following two nights, they booked Berlin’s legendary punk rock sweatbox, SO36 in Kreuzberg, and returned to the purest possible form of New Model Army - without an orchestra, keyboards, or double bass. Over the two nights, the band played 38 different songs (in addition to the 21 performed with the orchestra), with the intention of seeing the weekend as a whole. The Sinfonia project in all its glory was released in 2023 - now, at last, comes sweat-drenched rock ‘n’ roll.
