Cristina, Izzie and Meredith aggressively pursue the case of Shane, a male patient who seems to have a hysterical pregnancy, which fascinates them and the entire medical staff; and a sheltered young patient inspires Alex to better express his feelings for Izzie.

Lorelai goes to Luke's diner, but they find that they are uncomfortable together, when law schools and medical schools accept Paris, she decides to reassess her relationship with Doyle, and Rory gets a surprising letter.

Lorelai and Christopher have resumed their relationship. Although Lorelai is finding it difficult to fully commit to him, Christopher keeps coming up with romantic dates to win her over.

On the eve of Rory's graduation, Emily and Richard throw her a party and perform a song in her honour. At the party, Lorelai and Christopher are reunited for the first time and are relieved they can be friends. Logan also has a shock for her.

Lorelai invites Rory over to dinner to tell her that she and Christopher got married in Paris. Rory pretends to be thrilled while Christopher is in the room, but later tells Lorelai how hurt and angry she really is.

Christopher and Lorelai take his daughter to visit her mother in Paris; Rory's tenure as editor in chief of the Yale Daily News ends, leaving her unsure of her future.
