Detective Kelly (David Caruso) risks his career and life by testifying on behalf of Detective Licalsi (Amy Brenneman) in her double homicide trial.

The detectives follow a string of mysterious homicides; a woman runs over her unfaithful husband; a murdered woman has an uncertain relationship to her brothers.

Sipowicz and Sorenson stay out of the squad room in order to avoid the new lieutenant. While supposedly researching an old case, they discover the body of a young girl, burnt beyond recognition.

A Hispanic female, shot in the head and suspected of being a prostitute, turns out to be a prison corrections officer.

Valerie stops by Baldwin's apartment for some spontaneity. Sipowicz gets a page from Gibson's niece Cynthia and agrees to have lunch with her.

Sipowicz and Clark Jr are on the scene of the death of a caseworker in child services, it's not clear whether she committed suicide or was the victim of foul play.
