The detectives follow a string of mysterious homicides; a woman runs over her unfaithful husband; a murdered woman has an uncertain relationship to her brothers.

McDowell crosses the line with the daughter she gave up for adoption; two young men are found dead in a gang hangout; a woman is found buried in concrete.

The detectives are on the scene of what appears to be a gang killing. A new detective arrives at the scene, his name is Stan Hatcher.

Sipowicz works as a guard for an eccentric woman; Sipowicz believes a new detective is unqualified; purebred puppies are stolen from a pet store; a man accused of child molestation is found murdered.

Vehicles in the precinct's car park are broken into, including Clark Jr's, and since he was just thrown out of his father's home, it contained all his possessions, including his detective shield.
