The Pilot's Love Song

Kal-El Albus and Ariel, his younger sister, prepare to train to become military pilots at Cadoque's High Aerial Division on the floating island of Isla.

The Cadoque High students undergo some gruelling training and must pair up; a new girl called Claire arrives and Kal-El immediately chooses her.

The students practice dogfighting and shooting; Kal-El and Claire are separated from the squad and are forced to make a water landing; Kal-El recalls his time when he was still the crown prince of Balsteros; flashbacks reveal that Nina overthrew Kal-El's family and beheaded his parents, forming the Besteros Republic; in the aftermath, Kal-El is adopted by an airplane mechanic who convinces the prison warden to pretend that he's dead.

A search and rescue team is deployed to find Claire and Kal-El while a violent storm rages on; Ariel learns the secret that Kal-El is a former crown prince.

During training, Claire and Kal-El separate from the group and share a romantic moment in the forest; the students begin to learn how to dogfight, and it is clear that the tag team of Claire and Kal-El is far above the rest; on one practice run, they see an invading force of Sky Clan planes.

Admiral Leopold Melze and Secretary Amelia Cervantes agree to use students for recon; the students host a restaurant night and serve tasty ramen to the citizens of the island.
