The trainee inspectors are halfway through their year; Nat helps two pigeons; Debs rescues two meerkats; Jess helps a dog find a new family; a lesson in euthanasia.

The trainees start working solo on real-life cases; Becky deals with an abandoned cat; Jess encounters a horse being kept in a back garden; Georgie assists in a dispute over a cat.

The trainees are investigating cases by themselves for the first time. Debs deals with a potentially deadly snake, Rowena rushes to rescue a rabbit and Jess helps a boxer with a lump.

Becky helps an injured bird, Rowena investigates a case of cruelty to dogs, and both Natalies help cats that need care, as they all prove they're ready to become full-time inspectors.
