Sir George Telek MBE, aka Telek, is a band, a man and in some parts of the world, a legend. His four decade career has been inextricably linked with Australian musical icon David Bridie (Not Drowning Waving, My Friend The Chocolate Cake). The pair’s musical collaborations smashed genres, won an ARIA Award, and brought PNG music to a global audience. Their friendship has endured addictions, life-threatening illnesses, political and cultural trials, and the volcanic devastation of Telek’s home town of Rabaul, using the power of music to heal and rebuild. Abebe – Butterfly Song is an intimate look at the deep and enduring relationship between these two talented and unique musicians.
