The Seaside Hotel

In 1928, teenage Fie is promoted to chambermaid on her first day, causing resentment; guests include socialite Amanda and her parents, who have a run-in with farmer Morten on the way to the hotel.

The Count of Ditmar and his parents arrive at the hotel, and he seems to be looking for a business partner; Edward receives an anonymous love note.

Fie wakes up from a terrible nightmare about someone she loves being in danger; the Count needs to leave the hotel after receiving a suspicious phone call, but his departure is delayed when Mr. Andersen gets badly injured.

Panic strikes the hotel as no one knows how to open the safe and the grocer wants to be paid early; returning from the hospital, Mrs. Andersen reads an upsetting letter; terrible news is announced.

After Mr. Andersen's funeral, the guests contemplate leaving; the Count meets his mysterious caller; the love triangle between Amanda, Fie and Morten becomes more complicated.

The Count finds himself in a touchy situation as both Mr. Madsen and the new guest have compromising information about him; the tables are turned when the police reveal the death of the new guest.
