Xiang Qin Yu (Hu Yi Tian), a famous Republican era actor, finds his promising career abruptly halted when he mysteriously awakens in the modern world. Lost and alone, he is rescued by Jin A Yin (Chen Yu Qi), an unknown screenwriter who offers him shelter and support. Together, they begin investigating the circumstances of Qin Yu's unexplained transportation through time. As Qin Yu searches for the truth about his past, he and A Yin grow closer, developing romantic feelings for each other.
