Fall in Love with My King

Mu Rong (Deng Kai) is a young and well-regarded general in the Imperial army. His forces have captured an assassin and are holding their captive in their camp. Then, a beautiful woman named He Lian (Pa Li) arrives at the camp, intent on winning the general’s heart and hand in marriage. She succeeds and gains access to his private quarters. But it seems that He Lian isn’t quite who she seems to be: She has been sent by enemy forces on a secret mission to free the assassin. She flirts with him, panders to his ego – then renders him unconscious with poison. She then frees the captive and escapes. Mu Rong is punished severely by the Imperial court for his oversight. Shamed by the fact that he fell so easily for He Lian’s simple scheme, Mu Rong vows to find and take his revenge on her. Five years later, their paths meet again. But it turns out He Lian has a few more tricks up her sleeve – even if she appears to have underestimated Mu Rong’s resolve.
