The Circle
The difficulties of several women in modern-day Iran are chronicled. An expectant mother (Solmaz Panahi) is disappointed that she will be giving birth to a girl instead of a boy. Two women released from prison (Nargess Mamizadeh, Maryiam Parvin Almani) must find a way to make enough money for the bus fare to get back home. An unmarried woman begs for an abortion, while elsewhere, a homeless woman (Fatemeh Naghavi) abandons her child in the hope she'll be cared for by child services.
