In the throes of an investigation into Bill's private life, Barb finds herself on the front lines as her husband's accomplice. Nicki's attempts at helping a compound wife leaves her in an awkward spot in Juniper Creek.

Bill continues to try and overcome the anti-polygamist sentiment felt by state officials in the lead up to his swearing-in ceremony. Barb's attendance at a First Ladies' dance brings old rifts back to the surface between some of the wives.

Bill secures a deal in the Senate, and is asked to refrain from sharing his religion. Bored with interning, Barb shares that she believes herself to be coequal with men and their relationship with God.
