A murder enquiry is launched when a concerned citizen alerts the police to a shocking video spreading like wildfire on the web. The video contains footage of a teenage girl being attacked and shot. Hampered by the lack of a body and a trail gone cold, finding those responsible for this brutal crime is only the first challenge for our heroes. Prosecuting the accused means dividing loyalties in a gang seemingly untroubled by the nature of their crimes.

The body of an elderly woman is found at the foot of a well known suicide jump but, even when the case is clearly murder, there is nothing simple about the motive, and Jake and Kate disagree fundamentally about this case.
