Jim just doesn't always make the right choice with parental duties and rules. He allows his daughters Gracie and Ruby to watch a horror film., but of course, it gives them nightmares and Jim is punished.

Cheryl caters to Jim's every whim to make amends for a big fight they had the night before - except that Jim does not remember the fight at all.

Cheryl lies to her cousin Mindy and claims she is the singer of Jim's band. Mindy then invites her to perform at her engagement party, so they have to try to get Cheryl out of the band as soon as possible.

When Jim's son becomes attached to a Green Bay Packers football, Jim tries to turn him into an arch rival Chicago Bears fan instead.

Jim and his neighbours get competitive when he encourages the girls to set up a lemonade stand to raise money for their scooters.
