After fighting with his father and Haley, Nathan succumbs to the pressure and takes amphetamines to help him play basketball better. However, he isn't prepared for the destruction the drugs do to both his body and his family. Meanwhile, Peyton intends to rekindle her relationship with Lucas, but when she arrives at his house, she witnesses him with Brooke.

As Lucas and his fiancée enjoy planning their dream wedding, Brooke and Peyton reconnect, and Brooke, reeling from a threat to her store, reaches out to an unexpected ally. Nathan works with Quentin on his basketball skills, but Haley fears for Nathan's well-being and Jamie catches Skills and Deb kissing.

Lucas receives an unlikely visitor: his supposedly dead uncle Keith. Meanwhile, the lives of Haley and her unborn child are threatened when she experiences serious complications with her pregnancy, Nathan wrestles with the guilt and consequences of his dealings with Another, Dan tries to make amends for Keith's murder, and Peyton and Brooke try to patch up their differences.
