On the brink of a lucrative tech deal, Eddie realizes that he must work on rebranding Empire. Cookie springs into action when a girl group from the past re-unites and threatens to expose secrets about Empire and Lucious. Meanwhile, Hakeem makes a major move with Tiana, Andre continues to struggle with his guilt and Becky is faced with a difficult situation.

In an effort to sign more artists, Cookie and Lucious make a bet to see who can find someone first. Hakeem refuses to leave the studio when his rage inspires what he considers to be his best music yet. Jamal finds himself at a crossroads.

Lucious must play nice with Jeff Kingsley to get girl group TBD back on the map. Jamal grows frustrated with Cookie when she tries to steal his artist, and Andre works with the mother of one of his old inmates to help free her innocent son.

With the label showcase on the horizon, Cookie and Lucious' financial prospects hang in the balance. Kai digs up some dirt at Empire, but Jamal is unimpressed. Andre wonders whether he made the right choice.
