Renu is deeply hurt as she is under the impression that Ranjit forgot their marriage anniversary. When she confides in Raja about her feelings, he unwittingly advises her to divorce Ranjit.

Due to some confusion, the Verma family ends up receiving a piece of furniture ordered by their Bengali neighbours instead of the one they bought for themselves. Things get embarrassing when they face accusations of stealing.

The Vermas disguise themselves as South Indians and transform the interiors of their house accordingly to provide a suitable ambience for their neighbours, who are about to have a meeting with their daughter's suitor and his family there.

When their daughter Kavita and her suitor Shrikant abandon the marriage talks without even meeting each other, the South Indian family blames Ranjit for misguiding the duo.

Jealous of Ranjit's encounters with sales girls at work, Renu contemplates taking up the profession. In a twist of fate, her first assignment as a sales girl leads her to Ranjit's workplace.

While Renu feels empowered due to her foreign-returned friend Sheela's views, Ranjit tries to win a bet to prove that he can dominate his wife.
