What Did You Eat Yesterday?

Shiro Kakei (Hidetoshi Nishijima) works as a lawyer for a small law firm in the city. After leaving the office on time each day, he routinely goes to the local bargain supermarket. As Shiro swiftly examines the ingredients, he constructs the evening meal in his mind. Keeping the monthly food budget under 25,011 yen is imperative. Once he returns home, Shiro begins to cook and quickly finishes a dinner consisting of rice, miso soup, and three side dishes. As soon as the meal is ready, Kenji Yabuki (Seiyo Uchino), a hairdresser who lives with Shiro, comes home. The pair are loving partners who refer to one another as "Shiro-san" and "Kenji". Dinner is an important time to talk about their feelings and daily events while sitting at the table. The warm but bittersweet story of Shiro and Kenji's daily life begins at the dining table.
