Vaagai Sooda Vaa

Sumathi faces many hardships to educate her daughter Meenakshi. She recalls the suffering she endured at the hands of her husband, Devarajan, and how Meenakshi sought police help to have him arrested.

Despite her injury, Sumathi rushes to Meenakshi’s convocation. Kalaiarasi recalls an old incident when she spots Sumathi at the event. Sumathi is overwhelmed as Meenakshi honours her for her efforts.

Appatha rebukes Jeeva for his irresponsible behavior. She then visits Thenmozhi as a potential bride for Mano. Later, Sumathi is devastated when Appatha rejects Thenmozhi over a perceived flaw.

Sumathi disapproves when Appatha rejects Thenu and seeks Meenakshi's hand for Mano. Appatha gets annoyed when Meenakshi rejects Mano and gets into a heated argument with her.

Meenakshi ridicules Jeeva for being caught cheating in exams. At the temple, Appatha consoles Devi as she weeps over her inability to conceive, then sternly rebukes Mano for wanting to marry Thenu.

Meenakshi performs at the temple concert, but Jeeva causes a commotion. Mano apologises to Sumathi for his Appatha's unruly behaviour. Pandi decides to gamble with the money given by the client.
