Tryst With Destiny

This is the story of rags-to-riches corporate tycoon Galava and his family. Galava has amassed a vast fortune but still cannot shake off the discrimination that comes with a dark complexion in a colonial hangover culture that is so obsessed with all things white. In a darkly comic fashion, Galava decides to force an elite Parsi businessman who owns a large debt to him, to marry his very fair and handsome son to Galava's daughter Madhavi.

This is the story of Gautam and Ahalya, a lower caste couple who live in the small village of Shahabpur in northern Uttar Pradesh. Dealing with the abject poverty that comes with a lower caste life, Gautam and Ahalya work hard to provide for their family. However, Ahalya is repeatedly raped by some of the upper caste men in the village, who consider lower caste bodies as their own property. One day, Gautam ends up murdering his wife's rapists and the family flees to Delhi to escape the village's wrath.

The story is of Senior Constable Kubera and his paramour Laxmi, who have aspirations of owning an apartment in the bustling and expensive city of Bombay. This story is Kubera's quest to manage the cash for paying the down payment of a flat that he wants to buy for the love of his life. From being a small-time unethical cop to burgling a whole jewellery shop, this story throws light on the rampant corruption that Infects India's whole fabric.

A man wanting to avenge his son's death, who was eaten by a tiger, plans to take the law in his hand while a forest officer reaches the spot to take the tiger out safely, which the villagers have captured and kept in a crate.
